Going to the Beach

On Tuesday June 19th Paige, Declan, Mom and I went to the beach because moms friend Joann had a beach house for the week. When we got there we got our bathing suits on. Then all of us went to the beach. The weather was really nice! Jordan helped me to do back handsprings and back walkovers on the sand. Then very soon I did them by myself! I was so excited. Now I do them all the time. After a while we all went back to the house and had lunch. I had a pimento cheese sandwich and some chips. After lunch Miss Joann, Mom, Paige, Declan and I went back to the beach. I went into the water. The water was cool. It felt good. When I wasn't looking a big wave went right over top of me! It was fun. Then I made a sandcastle. I saw my friend Hannah from gymnastics while I was taking a walk with Paige. After a while we went back to the house. and had dinner. We had salad, hot dogs, and hamburgers. It was yummy. Then Paige, Jennifer ( Miss Joann's daughter ) and I went to Food Lion and got ice cream. We got cookie dough and peach's n cream. It was good too! Then we had to leave a little bit after that. But I had a great time!! 

Teegan's Book Report

The Quail Club

 The Quail Club by Carolyn Marsden is a book about friends. It is the 

story of a girl, Oy, living in the United States that came from Thailand.The story takes place at her school. It’s about a club that Oy and her friends are in. The name of the club is the Quail Club.

  At school there is  going to be a talent show. Oy is asked to dance with Liliandra, her friend from the club. Oy decides she wants to dance her Thai dance. Liliandra gets really mad that Oy doesn’t want to dance with her and kicks her out of the Quail Club. Now Oy has to find a way to get back into the club. The girls are all mean to her and won’t talk to her. Then Liliandra decides she doesn’t want to dance alone and asks Oy if they can dance the Thai dance together. Oy forgives Lilandra for being mean and gives her a second chance.  Oy and Liliandra decide to dance together. At the talent show Oy gets nervous. When it was their turn Oy is brave and dances beautifully. Liliandra and Oy got first place in the awards. 

I thought the beginning of the book was boring but then it got better and better. I liked the part when Oy overcame her nervousness. I learned that you should not be mean to your friends if they want to do something different then you, like dancing. I would tell a friend that this is a good book. 

Going to the Eye Doctor

Tuesday I went to the eye doctor. I love going to the eye doctor because of all the cool machines. The machines took  pictures of my eyes. The lady that tool me in to the room to wait for the Dr. asked me a lot of questions. My eye doctor is Mr. Leery, he is nice. His daughter Emma plays violin just like me. I had to get new lens because my eyes has gotten a little worse. I might get contact lens because of the gym. Now that I moved up to level 5 I have to jump from one bar to the other. I am going to go back in a week and hopefully I will be fitted for contact lens. Oh I just LOVE going to the eye doctor!

Chinese New Year

Saturday morning Mom took me to gymnastics. After mom picked me up, we had lunch. We went to Taco Bell. Then we went to the Nicholson's. When we got there we got to hang out and play outside.  I also played violin with Anna. Chinese New Year didn't start till 4:00.   I went outside with Josh and Anna. I went on the zip line. The zip line was high up in the air. It was hooked up on to a large tree that fell down in the hurricane. At 4 the Henky's came, then the Carter's and the Kent's. Telli, Matt and Glennwood came late with Clement. Clement is their new baby, we got to play with him. We all went on the zip line. Miss Windy brought paint to paint our faces. Cassidy face was painted like a butterfly and I was a DRAGON! Then we played a little bit more and then ate dinner. The food was delicious. I sat with Cassidy, Tessa and Maleah. After we played a game then we ate dessert.We had ice cream in a cup. I had Oreo.  We did crafts. I made a dragon like in a parade, my dragon had scales. Then we played more. We left at 9:00. I was really tired. I love Chinese New Year! My favorite part is to be with my friends.

Christmas Party

We had our Christmas party at the gym after the New Year. We had Secret Santa’s. Mine was Brynn Day. My friend Caroline got Kelsi. First we had to drop Declan off at a friends house. Then we went to the gym I gave put my presents down. When everyone got there we played some games. Some off the games were silly, we split up into groups. I was in group 5. I got to be with Angel. She is in level 10. When we were done we opened presents. Anna had me for her secret santa. I got a jewelry maker. Miss Elizabeth sat next to me and said, “What did you get daughter.” She pretends I’m her daughter because we are both asian . I like it when she does that. Then we went upstairs to eat. I had a roll sandwich with ham,  turkey, lettuce ham and cheese, I had some chips and a mint brownie. Mmmmmmmm! Then we went to get Declan at the church. When I went to bed  that night I went right to sleep. That was best the night ever!! 

My Dr. Appointment

Last Tuesday I went to the doctor's for a checkup.  My checkup was at 8:15. When we got there we waited a little bit. Then we went to our room. I go to the Coastal Children's Clinic. When we went into the room they weighed me, felt my blood pressure and checked to see how tall I was. I weighed 44 pounds 45 inches tall.  Then I went back into the room. I looked at an eyespy book while I was waiting. When Dr. Calvin came in he talked to mom for a little while. Then he examined me. First he checked my heart, then my ears. When he was done done he said I would only be about 4'11" to 5 feet when I'm a grown -up. When the nurse came back I hand to get the flu mist. On the way out I got a lollipop and a sticker. The lollipop was orange. The sticker had a puppy with a scarf. The puppy was white. On the side it had a paw print. I some times like going to the doctor's only if I don't get a shot or a finger prick. I am lucky because mom said I was getting a finger prick and because Dr. Calvin said I don it have to have any more shots till I am 11.

The State Meet

Early on Friday morning, we left for Asheville. We left about at 8:00. We brought our leapsters and the dvd player. Mom brought  4 movies. They were Little Vampire, Elf, Home Alone and Cheaper by the Dozen. It took us 6 hours to get there. We stopped in Black Mountain. We went in a couple of stores. We went in a toy store. It had all of the same stuff  we have at our store, Snap Dragon. Paige met us in Black Mountain. Then we went some more stores. We went to a ice cream and chocolate shop. I got a pretzel rod with icing and sprinkles. It was yummy. After we were done shopping we went to the hotel. We stayed at the Residence Inn. It was nice. We ate out for dinner at Ruby Tuesday's. The next day we ate breakfast then took showers. Madison, Brittney and Haily had their meet at 9:00. We went to the gym and watched them for a little bit and then ate lunch. Declan and I had Chick- fil-a. Mom and Paige ate at Panera bread. After we ate we went back to the hotel. My meet started at 4:00. I got a sweatshirt. It is purple with tye dye and on the back it has the names of the gyms and the names of all the gymnasts. My name is at the bottom. It has a red star. Mom and I left the hotel and went to the gym at 3:45. Paige and Declan left the hotel at 4:30 because I had to stretch and warm up. We did beam first. I was 4th. After I finished my handstand I fell. I was shaking a lot. My score was 8.450. After we went to floor. We warmed up our backhand springs. Then we competed. I was second. My score was 9.175. After we went to vault .We warmed up our vault on one mat. We only got 4 warm up vaults and 1 straight jump. Then we competed. I was last. My score was 9.275. Then we went to bars. We warmed up and then competed. My score was 9.4. After  Miss Chelsea,  Miss Catherine and I rested and then they announced awards. I got a goody bag. It had a ornament with the emblem of the State meet, a Hershey Kiss and a small candy cane. Then awards started. I was in Squad D. I got 5th in vault, 5th in bars, 8th in floor and 7th overall. I got 4 medals. I didn't get 1st overall because there better gyms there. Mom said I was in a tough age group. We didn't get done till 8:30. We ate Little Cesar's. We got pepperoni pizza and mini chicken wings. We didn't get to bed till 10:00. The next morning we ate and then went to Charlotte to go to Ikea. It took 2 hours to get there. When we got there Mom and Paige took Declan and me to the playroom. There is a movie screen, a rock climbing and a ball pit. Declan watched Princess and the Frog. That was that was on. I did the rock climbing and played in the ball pit. I did all of the stuff. After mom picked us up we ate lunch. After lunch we did a little bit more shopping. Then Paige had to go back to school and we had to go home. We watched Little Vampire on the way home. We stopped at Bojangles. We went through the drive through. We got home at 8:00. I love Meets. They are fun but sometimes tiring. :)
