My Dr. Appointment

Last Tuesday I went to the doctor's for a checkup.  My checkup was at 8:15. When we got there we waited a little bit. Then we went to our room. I go to the Coastal Children's Clinic. When we went into the room they weighed me, felt my blood pressure and checked to see how tall I was. I weighed 44 pounds 45 inches tall.  Then I went back into the room. I looked at an eyespy book while I was waiting. When Dr. Calvin came in he talked to mom for a little while. Then he examined me. First he checked my heart, then my ears. When he was done done he said I would only be about 4'11" to 5 feet when I'm a grown -up. When the nurse came back I hand to get the flu mist. On the way out I got a lollipop and a sticker. The lollipop was orange. The sticker had a puppy with a scarf. The puppy was white. On the side it had a paw print. I some times like going to the doctor's only if I don't get a shot or a finger prick. I am lucky because mom said I was getting a finger prick and because Dr. Calvin said I don it have to have any more shots till I am 11.

The State Meet

Early on Friday morning, we left for Asheville. We left about at 8:00. We brought our leapsters and the dvd player. Mom brought  4 movies. They were Little Vampire, Elf, Home Alone and Cheaper by the Dozen. It took us 6 hours to get there. We stopped in Black Mountain. We went in a couple of stores. We went in a toy store. It had all of the same stuff  we have at our store, Snap Dragon. Paige met us in Black Mountain. Then we went some more stores. We went to a ice cream and chocolate shop. I got a pretzel rod with icing and sprinkles. It was yummy. After we were done shopping we went to the hotel. We stayed at the Residence Inn. It was nice. We ate out for dinner at Ruby Tuesday's. The next day we ate breakfast then took showers. Madison, Brittney and Haily had their meet at 9:00. We went to the gym and watched them for a little bit and then ate lunch. Declan and I had Chick- fil-a. Mom and Paige ate at Panera bread. After we ate we went back to the hotel. My meet started at 4:00. I got a sweatshirt. It is purple with tye dye and on the back it has the names of the gyms and the names of all the gymnasts. My name is at the bottom. It has a red star. Mom and I left the hotel and went to the gym at 3:45. Paige and Declan left the hotel at 4:30 because I had to stretch and warm up. We did beam first. I was 4th. After I finished my handstand I fell. I was shaking a lot. My score was 8.450. After we went to floor. We warmed up our backhand springs. Then we competed. I was second. My score was 9.175. After we went to vault .We warmed up our vault on one mat. We only got 4 warm up vaults and 1 straight jump. Then we competed. I was last. My score was 9.275. Then we went to bars. We warmed up and then competed. My score was 9.4. After  Miss Chelsea,  Miss Catherine and I rested and then they announced awards. I got a goody bag. It had a ornament with the emblem of the State meet, a Hershey Kiss and a small candy cane. Then awards started. I was in Squad D. I got 5th in vault, 5th in bars, 8th in floor and 7th overall. I got 4 medals. I didn't get 1st overall because there better gyms there. Mom said I was in a tough age group. We didn't get done till 8:30. We ate Little Cesar's. We got pepperoni pizza and mini chicken wings. We didn't get to bed till 10:00. The next morning we ate and then went to Charlotte to go to Ikea. It took 2 hours to get there. When we got there Mom and Paige took Declan and me to the playroom. There is a movie screen, a rock climbing and a ball pit. Declan watched Princess and the Frog. That was that was on. I did the rock climbing and played in the ball pit. I did all of the stuff. After mom picked us up we ate lunch. After lunch we did a little bit more shopping. Then Paige had to go back to school and we had to go home. We watched Little Vampire on the way home. We stopped at Bojangles. We went through the drive through. We got home at 8:00. I love Meets. They are fun but sometimes tiring. :)

News Channel 12

Dominic Brown came to the toy store today. He took video of some toys. He was getting videos of toys to do a story on the news. He filmed a Charlie and Lola toy. He took video of al different things. He was really funny. If you watch the news you would probably see him. He is very nice. I got to see him in person and see his camera. I was so surprised! His camera is big, it stands up tall and black with a big eyed lense. I wonder why it is called Channel 12 if its not channel 12 its Channel 13. It was really intresting too. I wish I could be on the news and be on tv. I was on the news on New Years Eve. I wish I could be on tv again. I bet it is fun being on the news every night !  :]

Halloween

In the morning, we had to go to the bank at 9:00. There was no school. Mom said that we could wear our costumes to the toy store. We just watched movies all day.Then on Halloween night we went to Miss Kathys. There lots of people there. I saw some of the girls from gymnastics from Miss Elizabeths team. I saw Mclain, Sam, Brittney and Morgan. Mclain lives right next to Miss Kathy. She was a gymnast and Morgan was a dentist. I did't know what Brittney and Sam were. I was a witch and Declan was a trantformer. I was going to be Pocahontas. We start trick- treating when it is dark. Mom wants to know why we start when it is dark. When it was time, Mom, Declan and I followed the crowd out into the street. We went to less houses then normal, but Mom said that we went to less houses than normal and ended up with more candy then we needed. Declan and I got a diffrent colored glow stick to put around our neck. After we were  all done with the houses we went back inside Miss Kathys. She had lots of food inside. Declan and I asked mom if we could look through our candy and eat some. Mom said yes. When we left it was pouring rain. It was not as cold as mom said it was gong to be. You know what my favorite part is? Mine is running up to the houses and saying Trick-Treat, and getting lots of candy.

The Morning at Trent Park Elementary School

Thursday, October 20th,  Miss Holly and I went to Trent Park to play the violin for the 4th graders. Miss Holly explained the parts of the violin and asked questions to them. First I started off playing Baa Baa Black Sheep with a variation at the end of it. I messed up a little bit but a kept going. She asked if anyone knew what a variation was. She made a example and  said if you put a stuffed Elmo on a person's head he'd still be that person but  with a Elmo on his head, that's a variation. Then Miss Holly played a piece of music. It was Twinkle Little Star  with a variation. Then Miss Holly and I played a duet together. It was called Glow Worm. Then I played To God Be the Glory. I messed up on that a little because my hands were sweaty. One girl asked if Miss Holly can play another song. She did a pizzicato song. Then she played a double string song. I liked that song best that she played. That  was fun playing for the 4th graders. This is the second year if played for them. Tomorrow they go to hear the NC symphony.

My 2nd Competition

I competed  in my 2nd meet. It was at TAG { Team Attraction Gymnastics} and it was in Raleigh. It started at 2:00 pm. There was another team that was in our group. They were from Salem Gym. There was no practice room at this gym.We had to practice on the competition floor. Vault was the first event my group competed in. I went 1st on vault. Miss Chelsea said that being 1st is best because your just warmed up. Then we went to bars. I went last in that event.  Mom said that I got a better score on bars at the first meet.  There was a little paper you could write down the scores on. After that we went to beam. Brittney went first. She fell off the beam twice. If you fall off the beam just keep going. She still got a pretty high score.  Then we went to floor. I did my backhand spring connecting without help. I went 5th. After we did awards. I was age group Sqaud A. I got 4th place on bars, 4th place on beam, 4th on vault, 5th place on floor and 4th place overall. There were tougher gyms at this meet. My scores were higher, except for bars, then last meet. I got a 36.1, same as Madison. I qualified for the state meet in December. Our team got 3rd overall, and we got a big trophy.

My Birthday Date

On Monday October 10th, Matt took me out for my birthday. He had given me a certificate for lunch, dessert and a event, like going out the movies.  We went  to Captain Ratty's. We sat near the window. I had 3 chicken tenders and fries and Matt had a cheese burger and fries. There were no desserts at Captain Ratty's. Then we went back to the SnapDragon. Mom told us places we could go for dessert.We drove to see if Dairy Queen was open. It was open. Then I thought I wanted to go to Dunken Donuts but then I said I wanted to go to McDonalds. So we went to McDonalds. I got a small Mango Peach smoothie. It was really good. When we were done we went back to store. I got to ride on his shoulders on the way back. After he took me back to the store Matt and Mom talked for a little while then Matt left. I had to finish my school work. I love going out for lunch, especially going out for my birthday. :] We were going to do the event on another day.

My First Competion

Early  Sunday morning, Mom woke me and Declan up at 6:00. We ate breakfast in the car. The meet was near Wilmington. The meet started at 9:00 and it was at Topsail High School. We were the first ones there from our team. Miss Chelsea got there a little after us. She stopped at a bagel store and bought a bagel and coffee. Hailey, Brittney and Madison got there a little after that. Before we all started we ran 7 laps and then we stretched. After we stretched our group went into a room. It was a practice room. We did time warm up on beam. Once we were done we went out to the gym. We had to stand by our sign, and it was shaped like a sailboat. I carried the sign for our team, we lined up smallest to tallest.  Before we went to beam we met the judges. Then we went to beam. Brittney went first. I went third. There was a girl named Molly she's 12. She cried on beam, and I feel bad for her. She was nice to me. Then we went back to the practice room. We practiced on floor. We practiced backhand springs, the first part of our routine and our split leap pass. Then we went out to the gym.  Hailey went first and I went last. I did a good job but forgot to salute at the end of my routine. I lost points, I won't forget next time.  We went to vault next. Vault was the easiest one. The mats were lower then the ones at our gym. Last we went to bars. Bars was my second hardiest event. I had fun competing. There were three other Chinese girls competing. One Chinese girl was my age. Her name was Katie. She was adopted from Hunan province.
We went to the practice gym for awards. I got 1st place on beam, 1st place on vault, 2ed place on bars and 1st place over all. I got three trophes and a metal. Mom took a picture of me and Miss Chelsea. You will see a picture of me and Miss Miss Chelsea below. My next meet is in 2 weeks away. I can't wait till the next meet. Now I love, love, love, love meets.   :]

2011 Moon Festival

Last Saturday we went to the beach for Moon Festival. All of our friends were there.             

Mykalya, Declan, Anna and I went to play at the beach in our clothes.We had races up and down the beach.Then we went back to the beach house. When we got back to the house our friends were arriving. Cassidy came first. Then we played with bubbles that Cassidy brought. A short time after that Matt, Glenwood and the Henkes came. Miss Joyce brought a yummy trail mix. We ate almost all of it. It was Tori’s first time being at a get together with us, since she has only been in the US for a short time. She was adopted from Taiwan. Then we went to the beach in our bath suits. Cassidy and I played in the water and played frisbee.We were so hungry  when it was time to eat. Finally we ate dinner. Miss Windy made macaroni ‘n cheese, Miss Wendy made salad, Mom made ziti and Matt made homemade pecan bread. It was all yum, yum, yummy. After dinner we played. Then everybody went home, but we stayed and had hot chocolate and watched TV. Declan,Mykalya and I sat on Josh’s  lap. We Left about 9:00. 

The day was fun, tiresome and  joyful.I Love our asian get togethers .That was the best day ever!

Bible School

Tabernacle Bible School

I had two great weeks of Bible school.
The first week we went to Tabernacle church. I was in my friend Caroline's class. The theme was ''Big Apple Adventure''. My teacher's were Mrs. Michele and Mrs. Paula. First in our rotation we went in our class room and talked about our Bible verse and our Bible story. Then we went to snack, then  we went to music,  games, mission's, then arts and crafts. My favorite was snack. We had good things for snack.

The next week I went to my church  First Baptist. It was the same theme so me and Caroline knew all of the hand motion's and the songs. I liked First Baptist bible school better. First we went to our class room and did a small little craft. Then we went to recreation or games then we went to snack, crafts, missions, music and then we went back to our class room. At the end of the week we sang all the songs for our parents. It was sort of like a concert. We got our Chick fill a certificate.

I played violin at three Assisted Living places. The first time I played at the Sterling House with Mrs. Matthew's. The other time I played at Bern Village. Then I played at The Home Place. At Sterling House a lot of people sang to the songs I played. At the Home Place there was about 30 people, that was the most at any place.  I played my medley, Take my Life and To God be the Glory. All the people were nice. At the Home Place one of them said my eyes were pretty. Next week I'm gong to play at the hospital in the cancer  part.

The Convention Center

Saturday, after work, Declan, me and Mom went to the Convention Center. Tryon Palace had a Blast Into the Past. There were things to color, old fashion clothes to dress up in, sachets to make, paper cutting and corn husk dolls to make. First I colored then I did paper cutting then a lady dressed me and Declan up. The people who wore those clothes would be hot in the summer because they wore lots of layers. It would have taken an hour for Declan to get dressed get dressed. They slept in the same shirt that they wore all day. There was a cannon inside and a man who talked about old guns. I watched a lady play a dulcimer. That was a fun day.  :]

My First Lost Tooth

At the store yesterday I was chewing a piece of minty gum. I accidentally chewed on my wiggly tooth and I felt something hard in my mouth.  I hid my tooth  so Mom could not see it and all I did was smile and she knew I lost my tooth. I showed Mom my tooth. There was blood inside it but it was cool. I look different with my tooth out. Mom says there is a hole in my mouth. I put my tooth under my pillow and when I woke I got.......... $5.00.

Last Wednesday

Last Wednesday was the last night of choir and GA's. There was dinner at the church. There was hamburgers, hotdogs, chips, chocolate cake and lots of different kinds of cookies. The food was yummy. Emily Wellspeak  played a piano solo, then I played the violin and Jack played a piano solo. I played ''Take my Life,'' "Holy, Holy, Holy'' and''   Jesus Loves Me''.  Then the preschoolers through kindergarden sang a song. They sang ''Jesus does Good''. Then the children's choir sang . We sang  "My King", then "I am Your Child", " Rock of Ages", "Sing To The King" and "As We Go". Mom got some flowers for volunteering in choir. I loved that night :]
